Having a dispute or problem with a .ma domain registrar in Morocco? Provider unreachable, not responding, or EPP / authorization code unavailable? You are not stuck: the national registry, ANRT, has a clear process to help you.

This practical guide summarizes the official .ma registry management rules and what to do step by step.

When should you contact ANRT?

Contact the registry (or file a complaint) especially if:

  • your registrar does not reply;
  • support is unreachable (email, phone, unanswered tickets);
  • the EPP code (also called authorization / Auth code) is unavailable or refused;
  • you want to change registrar and the current provider blocks the transfer;
  • WHOIS data or the holder name is wrong and you can prove it.

In all these cases: document your exchanges, then contact the .ma registry.

EPP code unavailable: how to recover it

The authorization code is the confidential code tied to your .ma domain. It secures a change of registrar.

There is no fixed legal deadline (for example “3 days”) to obtain the EPP code. In practice:

  1. Request the code from your current registrar, preferably in writing.
  2. Follow up if needed, and keep proof (emails, tickets, dates).
  3. If the registrar refuses, stays unreachable, or still does not provide the code after follow-ups, contact the registry via www.registre.ma/contact.
  4. ANRT can send the code to the registrant email listed in the registration system.

Critical point: if the holder email is wrong or outdated, you will not receive the code. Keep your contact details up to date.

What to do if the registrar does not reply or is unreachable

1. Identify the correct registrar

If you no longer know where the domain is registered, check WHOIS on mawhois.com or the .ma registry WHOIS.

2. Put your request in writing

Clearly ask for:

  • the authorization (EPP) code;
  • unlocking the domain for transfer if needed;
  • confirmation that the domain is active.

Keep screenshots, emails, and dates — useful when contacting the registry.

3. Follow up, then escalate to the registry

With no usable reply after a written request and a follow-up, escalate to the registry — do not wait forever on a silent helpdesk.

4. Contact the .ma registry

For a missing EPP code:

  • Contact form: https://www.registre.ma/contact/
  • Include the .ma domain name, your identity as holder, the registrar involved, the date of your request, and proof of non-response.

For a broader complaint / claim against a registrar or domain issue:

You can also submit a request there for any other .ma problem or information need.

Changing registrar after you get the code

Once you have the authorization code:

  1. Choose a new ANRT-accredited registrar (see our .ma registrars guide).
  2. Give them the EPP code.
  3. The new registrar files the change of registrar with ANRT.
  4. The domain must be active to be transferable.

You may change registrar at any time while the domain is active — without justifying the reason for the transfer.
